The next IPMS Niagara Frontier Chapter meeting will be held at 7 PM on Monday, October 15 at our new home at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2736 Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. We will meet in the BuffCon contest room. I'm looking forward to seeing you all.

We have had several requests that we make the club roster available to all members, as we used to do. This seems to be a good idea. But we want to stay mindful of everyone's right to privacy. We'll be passing around a copy of our membership roster at the meeting so you can be sure that your contact information is up to date and to cross out any information that you prefer not to share with the club at large. If you can't get to the meeting, please contact Dick Schulenberg (see the Club Officers List below). If you don't contact us, we will consider that you're OK with sharing your address, phone number and email address.

Also, we will be breaking up into focus groups to review the current BuffCon contest categories to make sure that they are still logical and easily understood, particularly for first time entrants. We won't institute any changes until BuffCon 2014, but that's not all that far away.

Model Table Round-up for September 2012

Table moderator John Zachritz started things off with his resin-cast Carnotaurus head which he grafted to an Aurora Allosaurus body. He also did some extensive re-positioning on a Lindberg Velociraptor, giving it a defensive or mating stance. And finally, John built an Academy F-117 Stealth Fighter with a Star Wars figure for a pilot and an American Flag color scheme on the bottom. Nice work!

Illya Grinberg brought an in-progress 1/72 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk II-b. He mated a Hawker kit with a Hasegawa kit.

Tony G showed his MPC Mustang Fire Fighter, to which he added a scratch-built hood scoop.

Larry Osolkowski shared a 1/24 scale Dragon BMW 318 on which he's completed the interior. He's working on the chassis and has re-done the shock absorbers.

Jacob Gadek showed his Hasegawa Egg Shuttle. Jacob reports that it was an easy build to which he added some aluminum tape details.

Mark Gadek had a 1/32 Thunderbolt on hand. The kit was already built and he removed the paint and re-painted it. He also brought an Su-22 in 1/48 scale in Czech Republic markings.

John Zaranek displayed an American La France Eagle Fire Pumper in 1/25 scale. The Trumpeter kit was loaded with lots of photo-etched parts.

Mike Morales shared a Mad Magazine Firebird Funny Car which he built with his son. He also showed a set of high-quality riffler files from Germany.

Paul Hines shared his beautifully done Bowdoin ship model. the 1/48 scale kit is from Blue Jacket.
